It follows Vincent van Gogh's final years of life, including dramatizing the theory that his death was caused by manslaughter rather than suicide. It stars Willem Dafoe as van Gogh, alongside an ensemble cast that includes Rupert Friend, Oscar Isaac, Mads Mikkelsen, Mathieu Amalric, Emmanuelle Seigner and Niels Arestrup.
